Cross-country skiing

The total (parallel, diagonal & skating) cross-country skiing trails in the holiday resort of Kronplatz amount to 280 km.

Twice a week, a bus takes particularly demanding cross-country skiers and winter hikers to renowned and charming cross-country skiing areas. This bus service comes with a skiing guide. Please book the day before at the Tourist Information Office.

Sledding and ice-skating

You don’t ski?

Then you should try sledding. You will have fun on the 2 wonderful natural sled runs in St. Lorenzen and relax in the nearby restaurants.

 

  • Sled run Berggasthof Haidenberg/Stefansdorf (length: 3 km – medium-difficult run – sled rental) Tel. 0474 548062

Ice-skating in the sports area of St. Lorenzen (ice-skate rental and curling)

Ice-skating at Roßbühel in Montal (natural ice-skating rink)

Winter hiking

Hiking on snowy winter trails in untouched nature. In St. Lorenzen winter hikers will find clean, well-kept winter trails leading to scenic vantage points. A hearty ‘Brettlmarende’ (regional snack made of cold cuts, speck, cheese etc.), folk music often played by the host, round the relaxing holiday day off.

 

Hiking routes:

 

  • Waldfriedhof Bruneck: St. Lorenzen – railway underpass East – road to Waldheim – Bruneck – gradient to Heldenfriedhof (no. 1A)
  • Rienzpromenade to Bruneck: St. Lorenzen – Rienz dike – Sebatum (Roman dig) – Stegen – Bruneck (no. 2)
  • Maria Saalen: St. Lorenzen – St. Martin – passed Michelsburg – Moos – Maria Saalen, 980 m (no. 1)

Snowshoeing

Snowshoing is offered to our guests on Wednesdays as another alternative to skiing. Please book the day before at the Tourist Information Office.
